Colin Notley - Career Summary
Colin previously worked as a Business Advice and Strategy consultant with Cowles Mitchell Beadon Associates Ltd and latterly as an independent consultant to TMP Worldwide Business Consulting Ltd. Prior to that, Colin had ten years consulting in his own businesses; firstly, Pareto Management Consultants Ltd, and then with Cowles Notley Ltd from January 1994 to October 1998.
Colin has had extensive 'coal face' experience in business. He has a strong academic background having held at one time the position of Senior Lecturer in Finance, Accounting and Taxation at the University of Canterbury, where he was a member of the teaching staff for 12 years.
Colin is recognised for his financial / accounting and business skills, and has occupied various senior positions with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand, including President of the Institute in 1996. He was Chairman of the Institute's educational subsidiary company - Advanced Business Education Ltd - and served on the Institute's Disciplinary Tribunal for 8-9 years. He was a member of the Financial Reporting Standards Board (FRSB) from 1988 - 1994, and 2002 - 2008.
