Directors and TrusteesWe have access to a number of different governance databases including the dsd/Institute of Directors Annual Directors Fee Survey. In addition we, ourselves, are broadly experienced in governance roles and have direct experience in these matters.
Chief and Senior Executives
We have a contractual agreement with MHR Data Service, one of New Zealand's largest salary survey providers, as well accessing information from other New Zealand surveys and databases, and publically available reports. We benchmark executive positions against this amalgam of information and recommend and comment on appropriate remuneration levels for individual positions.
The valuation of motor vehicles in remuneration packages is a much more complex exercise than most people imagine. The annual cost to an employer of providing a benefit to an employee by way of unrestricted access to a vehicle, and the value to the employee can vary. This will primarily be in relation to the purchase price of the vehicle and the annual kilometres travelled. Cashing up of motor vehicles is another exercise which we are often asked to undertake.
Other Perks and Benefit Values
Our remuneration reports and recommendations usually involve advice on appropriate levels of perks and benefits associated with individual positions. This information is accessed from the various surveys available, and can be helpful in determining Total Package cost as a means of assessing internal relativities.
Bonus and Incentive Schemes Design
We are experienced in the design and implementation of bonus and incentive schemes. These cannot typically be "bought off the shelf". They need to be customised around relevant business and individual "drivers". We have checklists for such schemes, and there are many many ways of designing these, and extreme care needs to be taken to ensure they are properly designed and not counterproductive.
